PANASONIC INTRODUCES TOUGHBOOK F9 BUSINESS-RUGGED LAPTOP

World’s Lightest 14” Class Laptop Delivers Desktop Performance with Intel Core i5 Processor

Secaucus, NJ, June 9, 2010 – Panasonic Solutions Company, provider of collaboration, information-sharing and decision-support solutions for government and commercial enterprises, today introduced the thin-and-light Toughbook F9 business-rugged laptop. The new device weighs in at a mere 3.6 pounds, making it the industry’s lightest 14” class laptop. The Toughbook F9 features an Intel® Core™ i5 processor, 320GB HDD, high resolution (1440 x 900) widescreen display, optional Qualcomm Gobi2000™ mobile broadband and an integrated handle. Highly mobile professionals will also benefit from the Toughbook brand’s legendary reliability.

Core i5 Performance
The Toughbook F9 includes a standard voltage 2.40GHz Intel Core i5-520M vPro™ processor with Turbo Boost Technology (delivering speeds up to 2.93GHz) and has Intel Anti-theft and vPro technologies to improve hardware-assisted security and manageability capabilities that enhance IT’s ability to maintain, manage, discover, heal and protect networked computing assets.

The new device, which delivers up to seven hours of battery life, also features a high resolution (1440 x 900) 14.1” WXGA+ widescreen display with LED backlighting and a DVD multi-drive.

Embedded Mobile Broadband Options
The Toughbook F9, like all Toughbook mobile computers, helps maximize mobile productivity through a variety of embedded wireless technologies. The device combines the latest Intel WiFi chipset (Intel Centrino® Advanced-N 6200 AGN) and Bluetooth® v2.1 +EDR, with an option for WiMAX (4G) or Gobi2000™ (3G) mobile broadband technology from Qualcomm. Gobi2000 simplifies multi-carrier wireless deployments for IT departments and allows a company’s mobile workforce improved connectivity options while traveling at home or abroad and adds GPS capabilities for easy integration with mapping software.

“Mobile workforces need the type of desktop-class performance offered by Intel’s Core i5 processors to maximize productivity,” said Kyp Walls, director of product management, Panasonic Solutions Company. “But performance is useless if your laptop can’t survive the bumps, drops and spills experienced by highly mobile professionals. The Toughbook F9 marries a high performance Intel processor with industry-leading light weight, long battery life, mobile connectivity and unrivaled reliability to deliver a best-in-class mobile computing solution.”

Business-Rugged Reliability
The new Toughbook® F9 business-rugged notebook successfully survived drops of 30” (just over the typical height of a desk or table) to the base of the unit while operating. Further, using Mil-Spec methodology, the device also survived 26 drops (to every side, corner and face) from 12” to a non-yielding surface.

The unique Panasonic spill-resistant keyboard design protects against liquid spills of nearly 7 ounces (200 cc), and both the lid and base of the device are designed to withstand more than 220 lbs (100 Kg) of compression. In addition, Panasonic’s commitment to quality—at both the component and finished goods level—results in a total of more than 500 checks and tests during and after production plus 100% burn-in testing.

It is not just the US where the Apple iPad is being picked up like hot cakes. Out there in Asia, Japan to be precise, the Apple tablet is set to make waves in a major manner. The arrival of the tablet has in fact impacted the notebook market as a whole. A survey on how the iPad will perform in the Japanese market has revealed that the device which was launched in Japan on May 28 – just a few days ago  - has helped Apple to eclipse home grown major Sony by a mile.

The survey, by Tokyo-based market research firm BCN has found that the iPad as been driving Apple’s share of the domestic notebook market and the numbers have more than tripled in May on a month-to-month basis and touched the 11.5% mark. Japan’s handset market had earlier itself welcomed the iPhone with enthusiasm and the survey results say that the iPad is set to replicate this success.

BCN banked on POS data collected from among 2,364 electronics retailers in Japan and found that the Apple share in that segment stood at just 3.5% in April. However, as soon as the iPad launched on May 28, the company overtook Sony, which at 9.3per cent, declined to No. 5 in the notebook sales ranking. It has been revealed that the iPad has been selling about three times faster than the iPhone did in the first ten days of unveiling in the Japanese market.

The notebook market, in the meanwhile, continues to be dominated by Toshiba, Fujitsu and NEC in the first three slots respectively. However, with the new Apple device coming in, the whole scene seems like going through a shake up.

Alysha Castonguay Topless Photos Ignite Controversy

Die Katzen vom Cimetiere de Montmartre by Foto4Alle

Wunderschöne Photos bei der Bilderseite Bildergala

Jill Greenberg, a freelance celebrity photographer, has admitted on her website that she deliberately made photographs she took of presidential nominee John McCain negative and unflattering. The Atlantic Magazine hired freelancer Jill Greenberg to take photos of McCain for an upcoming edition of the magazine. According to her blog, Jill Greenberg used uplighting to portray McCain as devilish and did not airbrush or retouch his red eyes and skin tone. Correcting minor imperfections after the shoot is a common practice for photographers, including Jill Greenberg.

After The Atlantic rejected most of the photographs and went with a more traditional, although still unretouched, portrait of McCain, Jill Greenberg posted some of the photos on her website and Photoshopped scribbles on them, depicting McCain as a devil with horns and with blood dripping from his fangs.

In her blog, Jill Greenberg boasts “I left his eyes red and his skin looking bad.” She blames Atlantic Magazine for hiring her in the first place. “Some of my artwork has been pretty anti-Bush, so maybe it was somewhat irresponsible for [The Atlantic] to hire me.”

On The Atlantic's website, the author of the article photographed by Jill Greenberg apologized to readers and expressed his sheer disbelief at the level of unprofessionalism exhibited by Greenberg.

Is it okay to let your politics show in the workplace? Jill Greenberg sees nothing wrong with her actions. As a management consultant, I have many clients whose politics differ from my own. But they have hired me to do a job and that's when personal opinions are put aside and professionalism kicks in. If I chose to imbue the work I do for my clients with my own politics, I would rightly be fired and could likely expect to not work in the field of management accounting again.

Jill Greenberg has not done herself or the Democrats any favors. She will likely find her calendar less booked, even by Dem-leaning clients who may feel that her lack of professionalism could extend to other personal opinions. Greenberg's actions and admissions will lead her down the path of becoming an industry pariah. If Jill Greenberg's goal was to bring notoriety to her self and her business, she may have accomplished that in a very different manner than she intended.

It really doesn’t matter what your website or blog is about, nothing makes it look nicer than really good, professional quality photographs.  Unfortunately, professional level photographs can sometimes be downright expensive. Luckily, like most everything else, beautiful looking stock photos can be found for free on the internet. You just need to know where to look.  So, that being said, let’s take a look at 8 places to get free stock photos for your website.

1. Stock.XCHNG

The self-proclaimed leader in free stock photos online. They may, however, be right about that. With around 400,000 photos available they do have one of the larger databases of free stock photos. If you wish to download something you need to have an account, but signup is free. There are minimal restrictions on the use of their photos and they only request that you leave a comment thanking the photographer and letting them know where it was used.

2. Unprofound

Started in 2001 by a guy named Jim as a way to share his excess photos online with people who may be interested, unprofound.com has grown to a database of several thousand. Although not one of the larger places, it is one of the more interesting. Totally free to use – no signup is required, nothing required for download. Searchable database by both tag and color. Yes, you can search by color.

3. Morgue File

Slang for a file of old newspaper clippings or photos in journalism circles, ‘morguefile’ has a large database of free photos. While accounts can be created, they are not necessary. An interesting feature at Morgue File is the ability to crop a photo, reduce the size, and create a code to insert on your website that would display the photo, yet allow it to remain hosted at Morgue File. Of course, this creates a link for them, but such is the price to pay.

4. Photo Rogue

Although one of the smaller databases with just over 600 images at this time, Photo Rogue is unique in that it allows visitors to request specific photos. Need a picture of a dew-covered spider web? Check. Photo of a house at a specific address in Santa Cruz, CA? Got it. Although there is no guarantee of your particular request being fulfilled, no other free stock photo site on the Internet is offering this.

5. Open Photo

Searchable by category and individual tags, openphoto.net offers numerous photos for free. Most follow the Creative Commons model of distribution which is fairly wide open but should be read and checked out for every photo. Offers ready-made code for crediting the photographer and the ability to link directly to the image.

6. Free Media Goo

Offering completely free images, freemediagoo.com has a lot of images but not an overwhelming amount. A little difficult to determine what links were to their images and what links were to advertisements. Main benefit is the images don’t even require a credit or acknowledgement. Also offering free audio, free flash media, free textures and free video footage.

7. Free Range Stock

With several thousand images of their own and more on top of that submitted from users, Free Rang Stock has a fair selection of searchable photos and textures. An account is required, but it is free as well.

8. Every Stock Photo

A different take on the free stock photo site, everystockphoto.com is a searchable database made up of several other companies listing stock photos, some of which are listed above. Aiming to be a stock photo search engine as opposed to a stock photo site in and of itself, you will still need to sign into the different websites where the picture is found.

The photo above is the Tiento, the official ball from the very first World Cup in Uruguay in 1930. Do you suppose the players might hush up about the Jabulani given this as the alternate option? Likely so.

Jens Heilmann is a photographer who decided to take photos of the balls from the previous 26 World Cups along with this year’s whipping boy of a ball with wonderful results – in decidedly better shape than the one above to boot. He says it took “years” to acquire all the balls, and you’d have to believe him.

The methods to his madness are detailed, and it’s an infinitely better viewing if you watch with the maturity of a 9 year old.

The PDSP-1 Digital Sound Projector is only 5” thick, so it will fit perfectly under your $70,000 Pioneer 103” Plasma TV. :) How much will this listening pleasure cost? A cool $40,000, but you will have 50 times the number of speakers as the Joneses.

Windows 7 bestellen

If you are looking for the most slim and thin computer monitor, look no further than the BenQ V2220 21.5 inch monitor. The BenQ V2220 boasts the thinnest and most sleek design, great LED backlit video, and a very high contrast ratio making it a great buy.

The BenQ V2220 monitor's slim 15mm 21.5 inch screen is the world's slimmest 21.5 inch monitor ever created. This sleek and thin computer monitor is so slim that you'll be left wondering how they got all of its technology into a thin 15mm frame. From its sides the BenQ V2220 is unbelievable thin and appears just thinner just a little less than twice the size of an iPhone (7.9mm each). The thin BenQ V220 15mm frame is truly something you'd have to see to believe, but so far this is the only circulating video that displays how slim the 15mm BenQ V series appears.

Being slim isn't the only claim to fame of this 21.5 inch 15mm computer monitor. The BenQ V2220 LED monitor is the winner a 2010 iF Product Design Award its sleek design and slim design. The BenQ also features 16:9 full HD, an astonishingly high contrast ratio, backlit LED technology, a stylish glossy black design, and lots more. This awesomely thin computer monitor also features six video presets (Standard, sRGB, Game, Photo, Movie, and Eco) and Senseye Human Vision Technology.

Under the hood the BenQ V2220 LED computer monitor is working with 10,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 5ms of response time, 1920×1080 maximum resolution, 16:9 full HD screen, LED backlighting, a D-sub, DVI-D, HDMI 1.3 (on the BenQ V2220/H models), and Headphone Jack ports, and manages to only weigh 3.3kg. The Eco video preset saves up to 52% more energy than with older LCD monitors, making this thin computer monitor both a money saver and more environment-friendly.

The BenQ V2220 21.5 inch LED computer monitor is really stepping up to plate by delivering great quality , a very thin, slim, and stylish (award winning) design, and helping to keep the world more “green”. BenQ V2220 is the slimmest 21.5 inch computer monitor yet and also boasts 10,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (allegedly) so it appears to be a great buy. You won't see the BenQ V2220 in stores until June 2010 and the price for these thin monitors have yet to be disclosed, but I'm crossing my fingers and hoping this thing doesn't kill us at the register.

A big report today from Digitimes, diving into supposed details surrounding Apple’s upcoming iPhone device. A few of the choice quotes from their interview with senior analyst Ming-Chi Kuo?

Apple initiated the iPhone 4G project at the end of 2008. According to our sources, Apple actually has another product codenamed N91 for the project, which offers less change from previous iPhones compared with the N90. It’s a parallel product to back up the N90 in case there are major delays due to significant modifications in casing, display resolution, digital camera support and so forth.

And…

Apple has requested memory module suppliers to provide both 256MB (used in iPhone 3GS) and 512MB RAM for compatibility tests. According to our internal tests, iPhone 4.0 Beta is quite memory hungry compared to iPhone 3.0, and with more complex apps, increased multi-tasking needs and a 5-mega-pixel camera built in, the iPhone 4 needs 523MB RAM

I think most people would be shocked if the shipping device didn’t come with 512MB of RAM, but it’s interesting nonetheless. What do you guys think? Do you believe we’ll see the device everyone has seen (aka the GizmoPhone), or do you think Stevie J. will break out something totally different?

It’s time to load up Google Finance on your screen and leave it running. Shares of Apple on the Nasdaq stock exchange are, just this second, valued at $226.92 billion and climbing. Microsoft, long the most-valued tech company and second only to ExxonMobil on Wall Street, is valued at $226.46 billion and dropping.

Apple has been climbing since February, and Microsoft has been falling since mid-April. It’s likely the two will trade places a few times going forward, but most likely Apple fans at the company’s Worldwide Developer Conference on June 7 will be able to high-five each other over the Nasdaq, instead of sulking over the economy.

It’s no coincidence that Apple is now the target of at least three investigations by federal regulators at the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission.

Apple already passed Microsoft on the Standard & Poor index, which only values “float-adjusted” shares that are available for trading.

Business Insider editor Henry Blodget this morning claimed that “Apple is worth more than Microsoft,” but quickly added an asterisk to his headline. Blodget had used the calculated “enterprise value” of each company’s business from Yahoo Finance, which omits each company’s cash holdings. And then admitted he’d screwed up on counting Apple’s cash. He used to be a Wall Street analyst.

Most stock watchers consider the full Nasdaq market capitalization to be the number that matters. Google News runs Nasdaq share prices on a 20-minute delay. It’s days like these we wish we had a Bloomberg terminal.

For the first time in the long history of the dueling computer companies, Apple Inc.'s market capitalization passed that of rival Microsoft Corp. on Wednesday, making Apple the most valuable technology company in the world.

Apple shares closed at $244.18, giving it a market cap of $222.6 billion, compared with Microsoft, which has a total stock value of $219.4 billion.

Apple's stock, which has repeatedly reached record highs in recent months, has risen nearly 16% since the beginning of the year, while Microsoft's has dropped almost 18%.  During the last decade, in which it released a series of hit products such as the iPod and iPhone, Apple's stock has soared nearly 1,000%.  Microsoft, meanwhile, has seen its stock price remain relatively stagnant.

"It's more than just Mac versus PC," said Yair Reiner, an analyst at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. "The market sees Apple as an engine of innovation and growth, but with Microsoft, the vast majority of its profits come from products that
been in the market for a long time."

"Microsoft has been the workhorse of the PC revolution, but it's seems that horse is running out of new tricks."

VAIO /VGN-FE41Z , Sony Laptop

Incarcator laptop Acer Aspire 1690 by incarcator_de_lapto.

Canon Objektiv billiger

I wanted to buy a compute laptop as I travel a lot and I need computer access during the time when I am not at home. I start searching the best laptop that can fulfil my need. I wanted a laptop with latest technologies but light weight to carry easily with me every where I asked my friends and other family member for advice but I get two recommendations from different people and these famous brands are well known which are Sony and Dell. I got confused which brand would be better and suitable for my needs as both of them are reliable and both can be trusted with the eyes close.

I went on line and compared both the brand my self and found that Sony are best in laptops when compared in laptops and Dell are best in desktop computers .Sony has better and advanced technologies when compared to Dell in laptop computers. so was the prices Sony prices are higher than Dell .

I discover the laptop technology of Sony was out of the world. There was no other laptop near that technology not even Dell can compete the Sony now .Sony have integrated web camera in the laptop, so need to attach out side camera ,saving lots of hassle and Dell laptops lacks this attractive and handy features in them. Built in Sony speakers in all the laptops Dell have this but the sound quality is not like Sony .Sony laptops are light weight in comparison to Dell . different sizes ,sleek .Attractive colours and very thin .Light weight to take it with us ,ideal for while travelling .Integrated blue tooth for mobile technology in both the laptops to generate powerful signals. Windows vista home premium additions already there in Sony Laptops but Dell have windows vita home addition only in some laptops and if want to upgrade version we have to pay extra for that. In Dell laptops we still find windows XP and Sony has already upgraded to windows vista .Adobe photo shop soft ware is also provided to edit and play with photos in Sony and no such software or similar is provided if we want any we have to pay extra to Dell.

But good thing is Dell are still better than other brands and above all they are less expensive than Sony and also Dell give good offers from time to time .Like money off , free products (leather case),free memory upgrade and even free delivery some time. But if one want best technology ,technology wise Sony laptops are the best ones. Their integrated hard ware machinery is Sony quality and machinery wise Sony are still leading the world. There is nice finishing touch in Sony laptops as compared to Dell ones.

Then I decided and bought a Sony laptop computer with all the above features like integrated camera, built in blue tooth, built in speakers ,windows vista home premium edition. It was delivered with in a week time and I found it excellent .Advance technology means Sony I know today. I love chatting with my family member abroad thanks to Sony web camera they can see me even when I am not at home. Due to speakers sound quality I can entertain my self with music and graphics are so nice I also like to watch movies .Sony laptop is my companion who entertains me and also fulfil all my needs. Easy to carry .

Well, it looks like MSI isn't waiting for Computex to show off some of its wild, new concept devices — it's just unveiled this so-called “SketchBook” at an event in Amsterdam. Offering a new twist on the convertible laptop, this one doesn't actually convert into a tablet, but rather features a rotating base that has a keyboard on one side and a full-size graphics tablet on the other — hence the name. Unfortunately, MSI is staying mum on any other details at the moment — let alone pricing or availability — but our counterparts at Engadget Spanish did get a chance to check out an early, non-functioning prototype of the device. Check out a shot of it after the break, and hit up the source link below for the complete hands-on.

I have been asked to write about cheap laptop computers. You can find cheap laptop computers on laptopmag.com. Here is my review on one of the laptop models you will find there.

It was really difficult to make good photos with this laptop because, as you can see, its surface is highly reflective and texture of the decor is so thick that the eye can no longer take it as soon as you move away a bit '. Despite this I am committed to offering you an extensive photo gallery, so you can fully appreciate this class object!

Nothing to report on the finish, which, in my opinion, is really perfect! We point out just a slight movement, irrelevant, lining zips, probably due to the presence of the air intake just below the fulcrum, thus preventing a better fix. In reality it is a very negligible and no detail on all the models I have seen.

The only “big” sin is the case of notebooks, although very beautiful to see, has a double zip closure (internal and external) which makes it reversible. This exposes the laptop to unsightly scratches and abrasions, lacking an inner sheath that separates the notebook from the zipper detail present in the skin Tucano, for example. This will force me to buy a new one, maybe for Christmas. For the rest is fantastic, although fingerprints on the keyboard and back are very clear! Finishing Verve, large 250 GB hard drive, super processor T7500, keys “QuickPlay” Touch, recorder “lightscribe” web-cam and other components make it a notebook, in my opinion, unique.

Interfaces

Right Side: Tray recorder, 2 USB 2.0 ports, Jack RJ-11 (modem), power connector

Left side: Security cable connection, S-Video Out port, external monitor port, Expansion Port 3, Jack RJ-45 (network), HDMI-out port, FireWire IEEE1394, Card Reader 5 in 1 ExpressCard slot (also used for storing the remote control)

Front: Activation device wireless / Bluetooth, wireless light, infrared port (for remote), LED on / standby, use hard drive, battery charging, audio input jacks (microphone), 2 audio output jacks ( headphones)

Rear: Grid output for air cooling

Processor and chipset

HP Pavilion dv2690 in contrast, mounting an Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 (2.40GHz, 4MB L2, 800MHz FSB) with wireless networking Intel PRO / Wireless 4965AGN, my dv2699el integrates an Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 (2.20 GHz, 4MB L2, 800MHz FSB) with network connection, Intel PRO / Wireless 3945ABG. Naturally, both processors are based on Santa Rosa mobile platform. The CPU in question allows me to use all common applications, office and multimedia; they can also count on good performance in multi-tasking. Here is the screenshots of CPU-Z, which illustrate the features of this processor.

As for the screen, there are no defective pixels or imperfections, while the colors are especially brilliant. The viewing angle is very wide and, thanks to the many configurations offered by the panel is very easy to find the set of settings for optimal viewing. The display widescreen format is ideal for watching DVDs, and the native resolution is 1280×800 pixels. The only negative concerning the presence of the classic “reflection effect” characteristic of all the HP BrightView display and in general all LCDs like glare. I admit that in some lighting conditions, or outdoor light source behind it, can cause vision problems.
